The Department of Transportation is closing Highway 1806 west of the Pierre, Fort Pierre area on Tuesday (September 8th). They are replacing mainline cross pipes.
Officials are hoping to have the project completed in two to three weeks. According to the press release, the estimated finish date is October 30th, 2020 for the whole project.
The exact location is near the GF&P offices on Highway 1806. That’s about two and a half miles north of Highway 14.
The press release says that contractors and crews will start setting out traffic control to close the road. Once construction starts on September 8th, any through traffic must find an alternate route until the pipe is placed and the maintenance is complete.
