The ninth annual Walk of Hope Coming Together for Suicide Prevention has a virtual and in-person option for folks this year. Event Coordinator Julie Moore says this is a new look for the Walk of hope. They will be doing the program as normal and if you would like to watch it, organizers will be doing a Facebook live of it. The estimated start time is around 9:00 am.
Foundation of Hope Suicide committee member Kelly Geffre said suicide and mental illness can affect anyone at any age. More and Geffre spoke with Chuck Hanson during “People in the Neighborhood,” and if you would like to hear that interview, click here.
In the interview, Moore and Geffre said the funds raised at this year’s walk, will be donated to help suicide prevention and mental health awareness in the schools.
If you are interested in donating or would like more information on this year’s walk, you can check out the Foundation of Hopes Facebook page or their website.
This year’s in-person event will take place on September 14th at the Capitol Lake Visitors Center. For more information, you can check out the Foundation of Hope’s website.
