A 49-year-old man was killed yesterday (Sept. 14) afternoon in a farm equipment rollover two miles northwest of Ipswich.
Information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol says a 1987 Custom C70 tractor/sprayer was westbound on a gravel road (132nd Street) when the driver unsuccessfully attempted to avoid hitting a deer in the roadway. The driver lost control, the tractor/sprayer went into the north ditch and rolled.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released pending notification of family.
South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
