There’s no school for Pierre students today (Sept. 16) because administrators and staff are reviewing the district’s COVID-19 response plan.
Supt. Dr. Kelly Glodt says the district has an overall plan, but each building has its own nuances.
He says they want to be sure any student needing to quarantine at home is still doing their school work.
Glodt says the entire community has to be diligent about taking precautions against COVID-19 in order for students to remain in the classrooms.
The Pierre School District will update its website each Monday with the number of coronavirus cases in staff and students. Currently there are five students and zero teachers who have the virus.
