Hwy 1806 reopens ahead of schedule for traffic to Oahe Downstream

Construction on Highway 1806 west of Pierre/Fort Pierre has completed early, which means visitors to Oahe Downstream Recreation Area at Pierre/Fort Pierre no longer have to approach the park from over the dam. Starting immediately, visitors can once again access Oahe Downstream using Highway 1806 off of Highway 14.

The park invites visitors to come out and experience the park during the fall season. The cooler weather and quiet campgrounds this time of year are ideal for camping, hiking, disc golf and more.
