One block of S. Pierre Street to temporarily close for sealing this afternoon

South Pierre Street between Dakota and Missouri Avenues in Pierre will close at 3 this afternoon (Oct. 8) for street work.

The closure will allow the City to seal the recently resurfaced stretch of street. It’s expected to reopen by 7am tomorrow.

Sealing is a preservation tactic used to mitigate weather-related damage and extend the life of street surfaces. The City maintains more than 80 miles of streets.
