While COVID-19 precautions continue, more people are flying out of the Pierre Regional Airport again.
Commissioner Jamie Huizenga says more than 600 people flew in September.
He says hunting season in central South Dakota is typically the airport’s busy time.
So far this year, 5354 people have flown out of the Pierre Regional Airport. The airport needs to hit the 10-thousand enplanements mark for the year in order to be eligible for $1-million in funding from the Federal Aviation Administration.
Previous month enplanements:
• September- 634
• August- 504
• July- 500
• June- 225
• May- 127
• April- 41
