A water restriction is in effect in Fort Pierre until further notice while another leak is being fixed on the Mni Wiconi trunk line serving town.
Mayor Gloria Hanson says this leak happened on Cedar Avenue, south of the Bad River.
The Bureau of Reclamation and Mni Wiconi are repairing the leak in their line that serves Fort Pierre and other communities. Fort Pierre’s water has been shut off and the town is using water from its storage supply.
Fort Pierre water customers are asked to limit water usage and NO LAWN WATERING is allowed until the restriction is lifted. This restriction is put in place to minimize issues with supply, including fire protection.
