UPDATE:
Two inmates at the Hughes County Jail in Pierre have tested positive for COVID-19 and a third is showing mild symptoms, but hasn’t yet received official test results.
Hughes County sheriff Darin Johnson says the first two cases at the facility were confirmed yesterday (Oct. 14, 2020) and moved to isolation as part of the pre-planned protocols. The third case has been moved to isolation as a precaution. He says their symptoms are being monitored and they currently show no serious health issues.
Johnson says the 24/7 program and visitation at the jail are suspended until further notice.

Hughes County sheriff Darin Johnson says the first cases of COVID-19 have been detected at the Hughes County Jail in Pierre.
Johnson says two inmates were confirmed positive today (Oct. 14, 2020) and moved to isolation as part of the pre-planned protocols. He says their symptoms are being monitored and they currently show no serious health issues.
