Update:
Approximately one-fourth of West Central Electric Cooperative’s customers in Stanley County lost electricity for a short time this (Oct. 20) morning.
CEO Jeff Birkeland says the disruption in service lasted about an hour.
This power outage involved an underground electric cable, but Birkeland says the majority of their electric lines are above ground.
High temperatures this weekend are forecast to be in the upper 20s to low 30s in the Fort Pierre/Pierre area, so Birkeland encourages people to prepare for winter weather.
