20th annual Parade of Lights in Pierre to have slightly different route than in past years

The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 20th Annual Parade of Lights Monday (Nov. 23) at 6pm.

CEO Jamie Seiner says the parade will have a new route this year.

Parade entries can include floats, marching bands, dance groups, walkers, vehicles and animals. There is no fee to participate but voluntary donations are accepted to offset the cost of the parade.

Pre-registration is encouraged at www.pierre.org, but isn’t mandatory. Entry forms can also be obtained in person at the Pierre Area Chamber, 800 W. Dakota Ave., Pierre.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries, in addition to the Mayor’s Choice and Griswold awards.
