Pierre Area Parade of Lights being held this evening; Entries will take slightly different route than in past years

The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce is holding its 20th Annual Parade of Lights this evening (Nov. 23) at 6pm.

The parade has a slightly different route this year. It’ll start in the TF Riggs High School parking lot. Entries will take Broadway Avenue to Highland Avenue, Highland to Capitol Avenue, Capitol to Euclid Avenue and Euclid south to lower Pierre Street. Entries finish by the American Legion Cabin.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries, in addition to the Mayor’s Choice and Griswold awards.

There is no fee to participate but voluntary donations are accepted to offset the cost of the parade.

Pre-registration is encouraged at www.pierre.org, but isn’t mandatory. Entry forms can also be obtained in person at the Pierre Area Chamber, 800 W. Dakota Ave., Pierre.
