The Hughes County Sheriff’s Office is warning people to be cautious if you’re having packages delivered and left unattended by your door.
Sheriff Darin Johnson says they’ve received some reports of possible thefts of packages from doorsteps and community mail boxes in Hughes County. He says thefts are common during the Christmas season and suggests leaving a message in your mailbox advising the carrier to hold parcels for pickup at the post office.
Johnson asks people to be watchful for any suspicious activity and contact local law enforcement if you believe you have been the victim of a package theft.
