South Dakota moved into the top 25 in this week’s FCS football poll, while South Dakota State fell after a home loss.
USD (4-2) is now number 21 in the American Football Coaches Association poll. Last Saturday, the Coyotes beat North Dakota, then ranked 15th, 20-13 in Vermillion.
This Saturday, South Dakota will play 17th-ranked Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
SDSU (4-1) fell from third in the poll to eighth after a 42-41 home overtime loss to Southern Illinois. The Jackrabbits could not hold a 20-0 lead.
Next for South Dakota State will be Western Illinois in Macomb this Saturday.
