BROOKINGS – South Dakota State Football Head Coach John Stiegelmeier has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him through 2025.
Terms were not disclosed. Stiegelmeier currently makes $306,000 annually.
Stiegelmeier, a native of Selby, has been the Jackrabbits’ head coach since 1997, with 184 wins and playoff appearances in each of the last 10 seasons, including the FCS championship game in the spring season earlier this year.
This year’s team has tied a school record for wins with 11.
SDSU is a win away from returning to the championship game. The Jacks will play Saturday in a semifinal game at Montana State.
