BROOKINGS – Douglas Wilson scored 16 points to lead five players in double figures Monday as South Dakota State men’s basketball routed Kansas City 89-57 in the opening game of Summit League play at Frost Arena.
Wilson hit only three field goals, but was 10-of-10 at the free-throw line. Luke Appel scored 13, with Luke Mayo adding 12 points. Baylor Scheierman scored 10 with 11 rebounds. Charlie Easley also scored 10 points.
SDSU (10-4) shot 54 percent from the floor and an outstanding 29 of 30 on free throws.
The Jackrabbits will host Oral Roberts on Wednesday in Brookings.
