SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota State’s Myah Selland had missed the previous two postseasons with injuries. On Saturday, everyone watching knew Selland was around.
Selland scored 26 points as top seed South Dakota State ran past Denver 86-59 in the first round of the Summit League Women’s Tournament at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
Selland was 10-of-14 shooting and hit four three-pointers.
Paiton Burckhard added 18 points and Tori Nelson scored 15 for the Jackrabbits (22-8).
Uju Ezeudu scored 25 points for Denver (10-20).
SDSU will play the winner of Sunday’s Oral Roberts-North Dakota game in a semifinal on Monday afternoon.
