SIOUX FALLS – Sioux Falls Washington forward Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda has been named as the 2021-22 Gatorade South Dakota high school girls basketball player of the year.
Mwenentanda, a 6’2” forward, averaged 18 points a game, 7.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists through 19 games for Washington, the defending AA state champions, who are 20-1 before their first-round state tournament game Thursday against Sioux Falls Jefferson at the Ice Arena at the Monument in Rapid City.
Her weighted grade point average is 3.97. Mwenentanda has signed a national letter of intent to play college basketball starting this coming fall at the University of Texas.
