Major League Baseball released its 2023 regular season schedule Wednesday.
For the first time, every major league team will play all of the other 29 teams. Divisional play will be reduced from 19 to 13 games with each division opponent. Every team will play one series against teams from the opposing league.
Natural rivals (in the Twins’ case, the Milwaukee Brewers) will play two two-game series, one at each home park.
Every team will play one series at home and one on the road against a team within its own league but not in the same division.
The Twins will open the 2023 regular season in Kansas City on Thursday, March 30. After three games there and three in Miami, the Twins’ home opener at Target Field will be on Thursday, March 6 against Houston.
Along with divisional opponents Chicago White Sox, Cleveland, Detroit and Kansas City, the Twins will host series against Houston, Washington, the New York Yankees, San Diego, the Chicago Cubs, San Francisco, Toronto, Milwaukee, Boston, Baltimore, Seattle, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Texas, the New York Mets, Tampa Bay, the Los Angeles Angels and Oakland.
