SIOUX FALLS – Former champion Steve Stricker and Fred Couples have committed to play in the Sanford International, the PGA Tour Champions event scheduled for mid-September at Minnehaha Country Club.
Stricker won the first Sanford International in 2018, one of his nine PGA Tour Champions wins. This season, in nine starts, Stricker has won two tournaments and finished second three times. He will make his fourth appearance in the event.
Couples, the 1992 Masters champion, will play in the Sanford International for the third time. Couples has won 13 PGA Tour Champions events and is a 2013 World Golf Hall of Fame inductee. During the 1980s and 1990s, Couples played on five consecutive United States Ryder Cup teams.
