The Pierre Police Department arrested a handful of people over the weekend, in mostly unrelated cases.
1). A 31 year old man from Pierre faces charges after being arrested Friday morning (Jan. 12, 2024, approximately 7:45 a.m.).
Information from a Pierre Police Department spokesman says Patrol Officers were dispatched to the report of a fight in the 200 block of N. Euclid Ave. Officers learned that Korral Whirlwindhorse of Pierre had assaulted a male with a liquor bottle causing injuries to that male. Additionally, two young children were present at the time of the assault.
Whirlwindhorse was ultimately arrested and taken to the Hughes County Jail on the charges of aggravated assault domestic and contributing to the abuse or neglect of a child.
2). A 22 year old man from Pierre faces various drug and alcohol charges after being arrested shortly before noon on Friday (Jan. 12, 2024, approximately 11:50am).
Information from the Pierre Police Department says Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Jackson Ave. in Pierre because of a disturbance. While investigating, officers located multiple people at a residence, some of whom had been drinking and were under the age of 21. Evidence consistent with drug use was also located inside the residence.
22-year-old Kaden Pazour of Pierre was arrested for:
- maintaining a place where drugs are kept, sold, or used,
- possession of a controlled drug or substance,
- possession with intent to distribute marijuana to a minor,
- possession or use of drug paraphernalia,
- contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and
- furnishing alcoholic beverages to persons 18-20 years old.
A 17-year-old juvenile male from Fort Pierre was arrested for underage consumption of alcohol.
20-year-old Jace Crane of Pierre was arrested for underage consumption of alcohol.
3). A 30 year old man from Pierre has been arrested for a probation violation, obstructing an officer and simple assault against a law enforcement officer.
Information from the Pierre Police Department says about 4:15pm Friday (Jan. 12, 2024), Patrol Officers were dispatched to the report of a disturbance in the 200 block of N. Euclid Ave. in Pierre. Officers located Rashaan Littlethunder, who is on probation, but had been drinking alcohol. While attempting to arrest Littlethunder for the probation violation, Littlethunder began fighting with officers. During the incident, Littlethunder kicked an officer numerous times.
Littlethunder was taken to the Hughes County Jail.
4). A 32 year old man from Pierre was arrested early Monday morning (Jan. 15, 2024, approximately 1:40am) after Pierre Police Patrol Officers were call investigate a person breaking into a residence in the 600 block of W. Dakota Ave.
Information from the Pierre Police Department says the occupants of the residence were able to get the subject out. Officers located the suspect who was identified as 32-year-old Milo Bullbear. While officers were attempting to arrest him, Bullbear became aggressive, pushing one of the officers against a wall. Officers used a taser on Bullbear who was then able to be taken into custody. While waiting for medical attention, Bullbear again became aggressive and attempted to spit on officers.
Bullbear was taken to the Hughes County Jail on charges of resisting arrest, obstructing an officer, simple assault against a law enforcement officer, assault by causing contact with bodily fluids, burglary in the first degree, and intentional damage to property.
