The Pierre School Board, City of Pierre, Hughes County and Stanley County will not need to hold an election in June (June 4, 2024), but the Stanley County School Board will.
Stanley County School Board members Shaun Cronin and Mitch Kleinsasser are being challenged by Patricia Duffy and Shirley Swanson.
No one turned in petitions to challenge:

Pierre School board members Randy Hartmann and Dennis James,

Hughes County Commissioners Tom Rounds and Randy Brown,

Hughes County State’s Attorney Casey Deibert,

Stanley County Commissioners Mike Kenzy (District 2) and Sonny Harrowa (District 4),

Stanley County State’s Attorney Tom P Maher, Treasurer Bill Konst and Coroner Gary Grittner.
Additionally, Stanley County will have a runoff election between Kathryn Sieverding and Kristin Gabriel for Precinct Committeewoman.
Fort Pierre holds its municipal elections in April. No one turned in a petition to challenge any of the incumbents so Mayor Gloria Hanson, Ward 1 Alderman Larry Cronin, Alderman Scott Deal in Ward 2 and Ward 3 Alderman Rick Cronin will each be sworn in for another two years during an April meeting.
