Do you know a South Dakotan who’s breaking barriers or building a more inclusive workplace? Nominations are now being accepted for the 2025 Governor’s Awards, which honor individuals, employers, and organizations that go above and beyond to promote the employment of people with disabilities. The deadline for nominations is Friday, May 2.
Nominations are sought for the following awards:

Outstanding Employee with a Disability

Outstanding Private Employer (Small Employer)

Outstanding Private Employer (Large Employer)

Outstanding Public Employer

Outstanding Transition Services

Distinguished Service

Winners will be recognized by Gov. Larry Rhoden at a special ceremony at the South Dakota State Capitol this fall.
The Governor’s Awards are sponsored by the South Dakota Department of Human Services, the SD BVR, the Board of Service to the Blind and Visually Impaired and the Statewide Independent Living Council.
