Dec. 24, 2025:
Pierre City Hall and Rawlins Municipal Library are closing at noon today (Dec. 24, 2025) will both be closed Thursday and Friday (Dec. 25-26) for the Christmas holiday.
Next week, Pierre City Hall and Rawlins Municipal Library will be closed (Thursday) Jan. 1, 2026, for the New Year’s Day holiday.
The Pierre Solid Waste Department has also adjusted its garbage collection schedules and facility hours during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Pierre city garbage collection normally done on Thursdays will be picked up Wednesday this week and next week because the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays are on Thursdays. Residents are encouraged to set garbage bags out early.
At the Pierre Solid Waste Facility, holiday hours this week are:

Wednesday, Dec. 24: Open from 8am to 12pm

Thursday, Dec. 25: Closed

Friday, Dec. 26: Open from 8am to 3pm
Next week, the Pierre Solid Waste Facility will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. And again, Thursday city garbage collection next week will be done on Wednesday.
Regular business hours will resume following the holidays.
