Pierre T.F. Riggs High School team wins 2025 Lakota Invitational

Pierre T.F. Riggs High School has another state champion title to add to its list.

Native American Education Instructor Donna Stroup said 12 schools participated in the 2025 Lakota Invitational, which involved 19 different categories of knowledge tests.

Stroup said the team had some individual event winners.

And, Senior Damen Horsely won the Advanced Math test. He said he was confident the team would do well.

Stroup said the Lakota Invitational has grown over the years.

The Lakota Invitational was held Dec. 15-19, 2025, in Rapid City.
