KALAMAZOO, MI – Pierre’s Carter Sanderson scored a goal and an assist Thursday as the Team South Dakota 14 & Under squad topped the Alaska Oilers 4-2 in the first game of round-robin pool play of the Boys USA Hockey Tier II National Championships at Wings West Ice Arena.
Sanderson gave Team SD a 2-0 lead with 1:59 left in the first period, then assisted on a powerplay goal by Cameron Ritter with 4:10 remaining in the third period.
Team SD will play the York Devils on Friday at 10:30 AM CT.
