BROOKINGS – South Dakota State came back, but it wasn’t enough Saturday to prevent Oral Roberts from completing a perfect Summit League season with a 69-65 win at Frost Arena.
SDSU (18-12, 13-5) trailed by nine at the half before twice cutting the Golden Eagles’ lead to two points in the second half. However, the Jackrabbits could never tie or lead.
Connor Vanover led ORU (27-4, 18-0) with 14 points. Max Abmas, averaging nearly 23 points a game, was held to 12. Matt Dentlinger scored 23 for SDSU. Zeye Mayo scored 20.
The Jackrabbits are the second seed in the Summit League tournament and will play Saturday at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls against the winner of Friday’s game between Kansas City and Omaha.

TULSA, OK – South Dakota State Women’s Basketball completed a perfect conference season Saturday with a 92-67 win over Oral Roberts at the Mabee Center.
SDSU (25-5, 18-0) is the first Summit League team since Northern Illinois in 1993-94 to go through the conference unbeaten.
Myah Selland led the Jackrabbits with 21 points, 17 of which came in the first half. Haleigh Timmer scored 15 and Paige Meyer had 14.
On Saturday, South Dakota State will open Summit League tournament play at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls against the winner of Friday’s game between St. Thomas and Western Illinois.
