SIOUX FALLS – Shaking off early turnovers, top seed South Dakota State breezed past Oral Roberts Monday 87-60 in the semifinal round of the Summit League Women’s Basketball Championship at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
Haleigh Timmer led SDSU (27-5) to a 20th straight win with 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting (5-of-7 3-pointers), six rebounds and three assists. Tori Nelson scored 14 and Paige Meyer tallied 11.
The Jacks committed seven turnovers in the first 5:51 of the game, but still led 24-14 after one quarter and 46-22 at halftime.
SDSU shot 47 percent from the floor while holding ORU (12-9) to 30%.
South Dakota State will play Omaha Tuesday for the Summit League Championship and the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
