SDDOT down to the “Frosty Four” in its snowplow “Blizzard Bracket” competition; Pierre Region’s Snow Problemo is one of the finalists

Throughout the month (March 2023), the South Dakota Department of Transportation has been using its Facebook and Instagram accounts to highlight the snowplows in its fleet that have received names submitted by the public over the past three years.

SDDOT Strategic Communications Coordinator Julie Stevenson says their “Blizzard Bracket” is a spin off of the department’s Snowplow Naming Contest.

Stevenson says what started with a field of 36 contestants is now down to the last four– one of which is from the Pierre Region.

Stevenson says voting for the “Frosty Four” is open through tomorrow (March 31, 2023).

Stevenson says over 22,000 votes have been cast so far.

Again, SDDOT will combine votes submitted through their website, Facebook page or Instagram account to get the final totals.
