Two-way traffic sections are scheduled to begin today (April 17, 2023) on a $21.5 million, multi-year project on Interstate 90 between Presho and Reliance.
The two-way traffic will remain in place for most of the 2023 construction season. Once temporary guardrail barriers have been installed, two-way traffic will be in the eastbound lanes of I-90 between mile markers 227 and 236 and in the westbound lanes between mile markers 242 to 251.
A 12-foot width restriction will be in place in the areas of head-to-head traffic. An over-width detour will be provided on SD Highway 248 from mile marker 226 to 251.
This project is in the second year of a two-year contract. The overall project completion date is Oct. 20, 2023.
