Jordan Q. “George” Mesteth, 26, of Eagle Butte, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Cheyenne River Health Center, Eagle Butte.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. MDT, Friday, April 28, 2023, at CRST Bingo Hall, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in the UCC Cemetery, Cherry Creek, SD. A prayer service will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the bingo hall with a procession from the 4-Mile at 4:00 p.m.
Jordan Quentez Mesteth was born November 15, 1996, to Robert L. Mesteth Sr. and Eva White Magpie. He was welcomed with love by his older sisters: Twyla, Lyndsey, and Whitney along with his older brothers: Robert, Isiah and Darris; and little sister on his mother’s side, Bernita Charger. At the age of four, he was welcomed as a son by Donita Dupris.
Jordan attended Eagle Butte Head Start and graduated from Cheyenne Eagle Butte School in 2015. Jordan loved sports, his family and friends, and his Wolves Den Family. While attending school, he enjoyed basketball, football, and boxing. Jordan’s dream was to turn pro in amateur boxing by age 30.
Jorden worked for LTM and alongside his brother, Tyler, at Dairy Queen. He loved hanging out with his family and close friends as well as all his nieces and nephews, whom he loved with his whole heart. He could out dance anyone with his “Cwalk!”
Jordan will always be remembered for the smile on his face, no matter how or what he was feeling. He loved to say, “Like my big Sis Lyndsey, she cries a lot, regardless if she is sad, or mad, you wouldn’t know it because she always smiles too!” He was a happy, kind, caring, and loving man with a big heart and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.
Jordan is survived by his parents: Robert (Donita) Mesteth Sr. and Eva (Everette) White Magpie; brothers and sisters: Lyndsey Mesteth and children, Whitney (Brad) Mesteth, Rob Mesteth Jr. and children, Isiah (Jessica) Mesteth, Darris (Chelsey) Mesteth, and Bernita Charger, Tyler Garreau and Talonna Bear Eagle, Everette Condon and children; special friend: his love, Kari Meeter; grandmas: Marlene Runs After and Arlene Demery; grandpa, Orville Testes; and nieces and nephews: Tristan, Gabriel, Anjelica, and Liam Collins, Raquel, Octavian, Aiden, Xander, Aubrey, “Daz” and Kacie Mesteth, Emilias Moran, Blu and Rocky Mesteth, and Jersey, JaTaun,, and Tavien Bear Eagle.
He was preceded in death by his older sister, Twyla White Magpie; aunts: Delphine “Nan” White Magpie, Diane Thompson, and Twila White Magpie; uncles: Wendell White Magpie Jr., Chuck Mesteth, Perry Mesteth, Orville “Frenchy” Mestes; cousins: Jacob “Jose” Hollow Horn, Maureen and Raphael Two Dogs; grandparents: Wendell “Paul” (Bernita) White Magpie Sr., Lylett Bolte, Madeline R. Mesteth, Matt D. Mesteth, Vernon C. Mestes, Merle and Marvin J. Mesteth; hunka brothers: Jason Yamni Long Soldier, Austin Miner, and Miles Phillips.
