The Gettysburg Area Community Foundation (GCF) turns 15 this year (2026).
Since the foundation’s community savings account (CSA) was established in 2011, it’s grown to over $328,000, received more than $260,000 in gifts from donors, and distributed over $73,700 in grants to local nonprofits and organizations making a difference in Potter County. Grant recipients have included Gettysburg Preschool and School, Avera Foundation, Gettysburg Rotary Club, Potter County Library, the Gettysburg Fire Department and more.
The Gettysburg CSA is a permanent endowment fund managed in partnership with South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF). Gifts of any size— from individuals, families, businesses or former residents— grow over time and benefit from being a part of SDCF’s large asset pool. Grants from the fund are made each year, investing in the Gettysburg community and supporting community needs.
As the foundation looks ahead to the next 15 years, the GCF council invites current community members and former residents to consider donating. To make a gift or learn more about GCF, visit https://www.sdcommunityfoundation.org/local-impact/community-foundations/gettysburg.
