Members of the Gettysburg FFA Chapter have been busy hosting National FFA Week activities this week (Feb. 21-28, 2026), talking about the organization to grade school students and sharing their personal connections with agriculture and FFA with others.
For senior chapter President Bobbi Eide, being in FFA is a family tradition.
High school junior and chapter Reporter Emma Baier lives on a farm south of Tolstoy.
Participating in FFA was a natural fit for senior chapter Vice President Trace Genzler.
Sophomore chapter Sentinel Bradly Vasquez took a bit of a round-a-bout path to joining FFA.
This week, members of the Gettysburg FFA Chapter have worked with a local resident to make homemade sausage that was then served at an appreciation breakfast for FFA supporters, spoken to grade school classes about agricultural education and FFA membership, driven tractors to school and held their version of Ag Olympics– all to celebrate National FFA Week.
South Dakota has 113 FFA chapters and more than 6500 members. Nationally, the United States and its territories have more than 1 million FFA members.
