VERMILLION – University of South Dakota Athletics is starting a relief initiative to help offset financial issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In what is being called “Coyote Pride,” Coyote fans are being asked to contribute a little extra to the program.
USD Athletic DIrector David Herbster said, “We remain steadfast in our commitment to train our student-athletes and support their academic progress, and will continue to fulfill student-athlete scholarships and other educational costs to support them. That said, our fall competitions were postponed, the opportunity to generate our typical revenue has been diminished and the impact to our budget will be substantial. We are reaching out to Coyote Nation to help us continue the success of Coyote athletics during these trying times.”
