Celebration of Life Services for Harold Red Owl Jr. age 26 of Timber Lake, SD will be at 2:00 PM, CT on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Oster Funeral Home Chapel in Mobridge, SD. Burial will be at 4:30 PM, CT on Saturday at the Timber Lake City Cemtery under direction of Oster Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Harold entered the Spirit World January 1, 2021 in Timber Lake, SD. Oster Funeral is Entrusted with services for Harold Red Owl Jr.

Harold Wayne Red Owl Jr was born on November 3, 1994 to Lisa Randall and Harold Red Owl Sr in Rapid City, South Dakota.  Harold experienced childhood on the move, residing in multiple different areas of South Dakota.  Regardless of his initially shy personality, everywhere that Harold landed he quickly became well-known for his witty sense of humor and playful attitude that kept everybody guessing what he would come up with next.  His resourcefulness and creativity led him to love being outdoors exploring nature, fishing, golfing or spending countless hours drawing and building something out of nothing.

While attending school at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Harold won multiple awards for his pieces of art.  He held a part time job and was also active in sports such as track, cross country and wrestling.  His natural athleticism served him well into his adulthood as he continued to find any reason to be out hiking, running, swimming and climbing everything in sight.

After exploring different areas of work, Harold found his niche in the world at the Enright Ranch north of Timber Lake. What started out as just a job, turned into him becoming part of the family. He loved to share jokes and try to scare people to make them laugh.  It became a challenge for everyone in the home to scare him back.  Harold’s sense of humor also led him to tell fabricated stories, just to get a reaction and try to trick you any chance that he got.

Harold learned many new skills such as welding, and he taught himself how to drive a stick shift.  He loved driving the little red pickup.  He was a skilled carpenter, helping to build a pole barn and he built and repaired many fences.  No job was to too big or too hard.  He always found a way to get the job done and liked to stay busy.  He also liked to initial his work, as “HRO” is engraved or spray painted on objects all around the ranch.

He loved when his daughter came to visit so he could show her all of the farm animals that he worked with and find fun things to do on the ranch like jumping on the corn pile, trampoline and hay bales. He was loved and will be missed by all.

Harold was preceded in death by his mother Lisa Randall and his paternal grandfather Arthur Red Owl.

He is survived by his father Harold Sr, daughter Oaklie, Coffy and Nancy Enright family, Tammy Goldade and family, 6 siblings and countless friends that considered him family as well.
