VERMILLION – USD alum Roman Gentry is a new assistant coach for South Dakota Men’s Basketball.
Gentry joins Brad Davidson and Casey Kasperbauer on the staff of Head Coach Todd Lee.
Gentry has spent the last seven seasons as an assistant coach for Concordia St. Paul. His first job in coaching was as an assistant at Rapid City High School.
Gentry began his college playing career at Milwaukee before transferring to USD in the middle of the 2008-09 season. He averaged 13 ½ points per game as a junior, then tallied 17.6 per game in Great West Conference play during his senior season of 2009-10, when the Coyotes won the conference’s regular season and postseason championships. Gentry was a first team All-Great West selection.
