OMAHA, NE – Michael Andrew, a former Aberdeen swimmer, qualified for the Tokyo Olympics Monday by winning the 100-meter breaststroke at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials.
Andrew, 22, a California native who lived with his family in Aberdeen from 1997 to 2011, defeated Andrew Wilson by one one-hundredth of a second.
While Andrew lived in Aberdeen, he swam for the Aberdeen Swim Club. He failed to qualify for the 2016 Olympics.
