MITCHELL – For the Renner Monarchs, things are as they should be again.
After seeing their seven-year run of state titles end in 2019 and not making the SDABA Class A Amateur Tournament championship game last year, the Monarchs are 2021 Class A champions after a 2-0 win Sunday over the Harrisburg Hops at Cadwell Park.
Ben Ihrke brought in the only runs of the game with a two-run double in the seventh inning to vanquish the Hops, who had won the last two Class A titles while known as the Sioux Falls Brewers.
Renner has now won 22 state championships, seven of which have come since 2013.
