ABERDEEN – Carter Sanderson completed his second hat trick in as many games with an overtime goal Friday to give the Oahe Capitals a 5-4 win over the Aberdeen Cougars at the Odde Ice Center.
Ashton Griese, who had scored twice in the second period to help bring Oahe (2-0) back from a 2-0 deficit, set up Sanderson’s winning goal at 4:59 of the extra session. Sanderson had scored the tying goal with 6:50 left in the third period, just under two minutes after the Cougars had taken a 4-3 lead.
Carter Schulz, making his first start of the season, made 23 saves.
The Capitals will play Saturday at Watertown.
