Canaries’ Championship Bid Ends With Game 5 Loss

SIOUX FALLS – David Washington homered and drove in two runs to give the Milwaukee Milkmen a 4-1 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries Thursday at Sioux Falls Stadium to clinch the championship of the American Association, four games to one.

Canaries’ starter Tyler Herron struck out 10 in seven innings, but took the loss.  Damek Tomscha drove in the Canaries’ only run.

Sioux Falls was bidding for its first American Association championship since 2008.
