SIOUX FALLS – Normally fall sports, volleyball and soccer in the Summit League will now be played in the spring this season, delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference announced its scheduling plans Wednesday for both sports.
Volleyball teams will play 16 matches, two against every other school in the league, twice at the same site. Play will run from January 31 through March 27. Then, the top four teams will advance to the conference championship April 2-3 at the Sanford Pentagon. USD, the winner of last year’s championship, will have the right to host the conference championship next fall.
Women’s soccer will be scheduled similarly to volleyball in the regular season. Play will begin February 12 and run through April 11. The four-team conference championship will be in Omaha April 15-17.
Neither USD nor SDSU have men’s soccer programs.
