DENVER – Defending NCAA Division II softball national champion Augustana was eliminated from the Division II Softball World Series with a 9-4 loss to West Texas A&M on Saturday.
Four-run innings in the second and sixth put the game in the Buffs’ favor. Gracey Brink homered for Augustana, who remained in the tournament earlier Saturday with a 13-2 win over Grand Valley State. Torri Chute drove in six runs for the Vikings.
Augustana’s season ends at 49-8.

WARRENSBURG, MO – Henderson State scored three runs in the bottom of the 11th Saturday to defeat Augustana Baseball Saturday 8-7 in the Division II Central Regional and end the Vikings’ season.
Augustana (36-13) tied the game in the ninth inning, then gained the lead with a two-run single in the top of the 11th before Henderson State rallied to win.
