WHITESTOWN, IN – South Dakota will be represented at the Little League World Series.
A team from Sioux Falls advanced to the LLWS Thursday with a 3-0 win over Hastings, Nebraska as Gavin Weir pitched a no-hitter and sent Sioux Falls to Saturday’s Midwest Regional championship.
Sioux Falls has three wins in the regional tournament, all by shutout. Sioux Falls will play either Hastings or Davenport, Iowa Saturday for the regional title.
Weir struck out 17 in six innings in Thursday’s game. Last Saturday, Weir pitched a perfect game against Davenport, Iowa and struck out 13.
The Little League World Series will begin on Thursday, August 19 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
