WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Sioux Falls gave South Dakota its second-ever win at the Little League World Series with a combined no-hitter in a 2-0 win over Lafayette, Louisiana.
Gavin Weir, who pitched a perfect game and a no-hitter in Sioux Falls’ run to the regional tournament title, struck out 15 in five and two-thirds innings. Cason Mediger retired the last hitter to secure the win and no-hitter.
Weir and Noah Kuenzi each drove in a run. Brekken Biteler had two hits.
Sioux Falls will next play Sunday against Oswego, Oregon.
