SIOUX FALLS – For the second straight season, O’Gorman setter and outside hitter Bergen Reilly has been named as the Gatorade South Dakota Volleyball Player of the Year.
In 19 matches in 2021, Reilly had 393 assists, 191 kills, 174 digs, 43 service aces and 29 blocks. O’Gorman won a second consecutive AA state championship.
Reilly missed eight matches during the season to play for the bronze medal-winning U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team at the Under-18 World Championships in Mexico.
She is the first back-to-back winner of the Gatorade Player of the Year Award since Roosevelt middle hitter Maggie DeJong in 2012 and 2013.
Reilly, a junior, has already committed to play college volleyball at Nebraska.
