VERMILLION – Trey and Trevor Sayler of Herreid/Selby Area were named co-defensive MVPs in Saturday’s South Dakota High School All-Star Football Game, won by the Blue team over the Red team 10-8 at the DakotaDome. The Saylers were both on the Blue team.
West Central’s Gavin Koch threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Benjamin Gustafson of Langford Area to give the Blue team a 7-0 first quarter lead. Braden Dierckx of West Central hit a 42-yard field goal in the second quarter to increase the Blue lead to 10-0.
Konner Berndt of Sturgis gave the Red team its only touchdown on a nine-yard run in the third quarter, with Timber Lake’s Tucker Kraft adding the two-point conversion.
