1365 people flew out of the Pierre Regional Airport last month (Sept. 2022).
City commissioner Jamie Huizenga says it’s been a good year for commercial air traffic.
Not only is it a busy time of year at the Pierre Airport, Huizenga says it’s an affordable time.
Denver Air Connection also provides the commercial air service for the Watertown Regional Airport. Numbers released this week (Oct. 3, 2022) show they had 953 enplanements in September— 567 to Denver and 386 to Chicago. Watertown’s annual total so far is 11,726 passengers.
DAC currently provides 12 flights per week between Pierre and the Denver International Airport, with there being two flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The company flies non-stop from Watertown to Chicago O’Hare and Denver International Airport.
Denver Air’s federal EAS contract for both airports runs through May 31, 2023.
