WATERTOWN – Sioux Valley and Dakota Valley continued their amazing state championship streaks Friday with wins in the SDHSAA Class A Competitive Cheer and Dance Championships at the Watertown Civic Arena.
Sioux Valley won the cheer competition by 58.5 points over Dell Rapids St. Mary, continuing the Cossacks’ streak of winning Class A competitive cheer titles to 16 straight years. Sioux Valley remains the only school to have ever won a Class A cheer championship, which was first contested in 2007.
Dakota Valley won its 13th straight Class A dance championship. The Panthers won with 297.25, 14.5 more than Beresford. Winner was fifth, with Gregory sixth.
