SIOUX FALLS – Elkton-Lake Benton used a strong defense to defeat Miller Friday 25-22, 25-9 25-21 in a semifinal of the SDHSAA Class A State Volleyball Tournament at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
The Elks (32-3) advanced to the program’s first state championship match in the school’s second state appearance mainly due to thwarting much of Miller’s attack. Four players for Elkton-Lake Benton had at least 10 digs. Rachel Krog had 17 digs and also led the Elks in kills with 11.
Ally Mullaney led Miller (33-3) with 12 kills and a block assist.
