SIOUX FALLS – The Monarchs still reign.
Warner won its second straight championship and eighth in school history Saturday, outlasting Chester Area 25-23, 25-16, 14-25, 26-24 in the title match of the SDHSAA Class B State Volleyball Tournament at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
Kyleigh Schopp scored 22 kills and eight block assists for Warner (37-2). Kyra Marcuson had her third double-digit kill match of the tournament with 15.
Chester Area (28-6), vying for its first championship since 2015, had 17 kills and three aces from Lily VanHal.

(5)Wolsey-Wessington def. (2)Burke, 19-25, 25-19, 26-24, 26-24
The Warbirds ended the school’s first state tournament appearance with a third-place finish. Leah Williams had 17 kills and Mya Boomsma scored 11 for Wolsey-Wessington (30-5).
Burke (32-6) was led by 20 kills from Adisyn Indahl and 15 from Kailee Frank.

Ella Haven concluded an outstanding state tournament for Northwestern (29-9) with 29 kills, an ace, a solo block and a block assist. Haven had a tournament-best 84 kills, 21 more than the next closest player.
Presley Knecht had eight kills and Madeline Horn served four aces for Castlewood (23-9).
7th Place
(6)Colman-Egan def. (8)Freeman, 17-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-16
Brynlee Landis had 12 kills for Colman-Egan (24-11) and Daniela Lee added nine kills and four aces.
Kate Miller had 11 kills for Freeman (21-12), who had a state tournament team for the first time since 1998.
